Buddhist pilgrimage Tour
Buddha is the greatest rebel son of India. The impact of Buddha on Asia and the world is immense. It is not for nothing that he is called the Light of Asia. At one time, almost whole of Asia was Buddhist. Buddhism is still a great influence in countries like Sri Lanka, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Tibet and many others. The profound influence of Buddha’s thought and teaching still reaches into many hearts. In fact, Buddhism is fastest growing religion in the West. It is evident when you Hollywood celebrities like Richard Gere thronging the Ashram of Dalai Lama in Dharamshala. The legend of Buddha is woven into the ethos of India. His way is rationalist and there is no God in it. He (God) is in the background if he is at all there in the system of Buddha. Middle-of –the –road approach of Buddha and his emphasis on relying on oneself, “Be a lamp unto yourself” has had hypnotic effect on people. This sounds much more seductive post-Nietzsche world of post-modernistic uncertainty. Lumbini, Bodhgaya, Sarnath and Kushinagar are some the places associated with the legend of Buddha.
